The isle of wight is a very small island and its most popular local newspaper is the Isle of Wight County Press. This is a weekly newspaper and includes current and future events that are happening on the island, it also includes the 'Property Press' for house hunters, the 'Weekender' which is the fun section that includes competitions, cinema times, theatre showings. There is also a 'Sport' section that shows the islands football games, school sport, beach soccer and other sports.
I think that the County Press is aimed at 15+ because it includes news and entertainment for both children and adults.
The County Press has a website - http://www.iwcp.co.uk/ which includes interactive advertisements, video's, an 'information desk' and many other interesting sections.
The Isle of Wight also has a news magazine called the 'Beacon' which is monthly and is free. It gets mailed in the post and this magazine advertises the Isle of Wight and shows all it has to offer, including the best restaurants to visit, swimming pools, hotels, spas and other places of interest.

Brief + Conventions For Newspaper
The main task for my a2 media coursework is the first two pages of a new local newspaper, together with:
-A poster for the newspaper
-A radio advertisement for the newspaper
My newspaper will be similar to the Isle of Wight County Press, which is aimed at 15+ and includes news, sport and entertainment. i need to include the following in my newspaper:
-Masthead: I need a bold title which people can recognise as my newspaper. I will also decide a name.
-Coulumns: I need to write my newspaper in columns as this is the usual format for newspapers.
I will include photographs in my newspaper, these will be high quality and will be used for the adverts and my news stories.
date/price/website: I will need to include the date, price and website so that people can easily see how much the newspaper costs. I need to include the website so that people can access the newspaper via the web.
Contents page: I need to include a contents page so that people can skip to what page they want to look at and so that they can easily see what is inside the newspaper.
